Choices, The Ripple Effect

"Choices The Ripple Effect" is a novel about one families' hardship when dealing with the death of their beloved son, brother and brother-in-law.

Edmond was a young man of 23 years when he dies in a tragic auto accident along with his long time friend Ron, under what seem to be odd circumstances. On the night of the accident Edmonds' body lay in the hospital bed. His parents, his twin sister Eden and her husband Carlos are at his side. They hold his hands and pray silently, knowing full well of the impact his body has sustained. Pearl and Arden look at their son feeling bewildered, how could this have happened? They know in their hearts that Edmond "their son"is gone, what lies in front of them is only his shell. They look to each other for support feeling the tremendous impact of his death. Their daughter Eden feels helpless as she watches her parents grieve, unable to ease their pain. Ed remains in the room, his spirit floating in and out of his body. "What's going on? Where am I?" he thinks. And then he sees a beautiful light. Pearl holds her sons' hand, willing him to go into the light. She doesn't want him to suffer forever, in a lifeless body. Edmond hears his mothers words as she wills her thoughts to him."Go to the light Ed." And he did. Edmond comes and goes several times, wishing he could just stay. Soon he realizes it's out of his control and once more he is in the presence of the beautiful white light. Looking around he sees others there too they smile at him as they welcome him home. His grandmother is right at his side. "Hello Ed, it's so good to see you. You have been called home, now come with me." Instantly, it seems they change locations to a beautiful home in pure white, Edmond is amazed at its beauty. His grandmother speaks to him then, but not in human words. In pure thought she tells him of all the endless abilities he now has. She tells him that he can visit his family."Popping in" as she refers to it. Ed is overwhelmed and in awe, with his amazing new life. But remembering his old life and family, he feels great pain and anger too, as his soul still has much learning to do. Through his creator, he is taught a great deal more, being reconditioned to this new life. He learns of the many ways that he can communicate with the physical world, gaining strength that he couldn't have imagined before. Strange things begin to happen at home. His mother believes that it could be her son attempting to come through. His father believes that his wife is losing it. His sister doesn't know what to believe at first, but later begins to accept it for its possibilities. His father will prove to be the hardest of all to convince. In time, Ed realizes that he can make their phones ring, hover near them to give them shivers and whisper to them as they sleep. He wants them to know that he is OK , just different. He wants to help ease their pain so they can heal. He continues to make many strange happenings, occur in their lives."Just believe" he whispers to them as they sleep.
