Hello,
Now that you've viewed a small portion of my work, I'd like to tell you a little about myself. I'm a wife, a mother, a donor mother, a writer and an artist. My poetry has appeared in " The Simple Life " column available at Yahoo groups. On April 5th. 2007, an article I wrote was published in our local newspaper here in Michigan, in the voice of the people section. If you're interested in reading that article follow the link at the bottom of this page.
My original intention was to create a web site in memory of my son Mark, I believe I'm doing that. My son always told me to be proud of who I am, and what I do. And so, I will call myself an artist for him. I know, that he's pleased with my work so far.
I do what I do because I need to, the feelings are trapped inside and have to be released. And that's, what art is to me a release. Simply put, "It is what it is" as Mark always said. Losing a child is by far the very worst thing a parent can go through. Dealing with that loss is by far even worse. At times, you feel  you can't. As the time passed for me, I began to heal through this horiffic experience. I realized that in order to heal, I had to feel this pain so completely, a pain unlike any other. And then, I went on to live and breathe. So for anyone out there who views my page, my wish for you is hope and happiness in this life. I hope that what you've read here, will give you some comfort. If you're suffering I may understand, I may have walked in your shoes. Please give the gift of life, through your pain and loss, another can heal. And through your most precious gift, you will heal too. Feel free to e-mail me with any comments regarding this web site. Have a great day and remember, God is watching over us all.
Thank-You,
Shirley M.
